Day 8 I prayed the prayer 1 Chronicles 4:10“ Oh that you would wonderfully bless me and help me in my work, please be with me in all that I do, and keep me from all evil and disaster!” And God granted him his request. (That is the wording from the Life Application Bible)
Just over two months ago, I said good-bye to my foster baby and to her parents. I thought our paths had separated and we were walking in opposite directions. It hurt so much to walk away from what I was so sure was God’s plan.
Only God can change pain into vision. This was the fourth Sunday I picked them up for church. It seems surreal. I am watching God’s vision develop in front of my eyes.
Although, I have never been on the front seat watching God move in another person life. I am growing to love these people. They have turned their lives around. After spending years numbing their pain, they are ready to face their disappointments and give them to God.
They are picking up the pieces and still don’t have a place to live, so I invite them to my house. God opens my eyes wider. We want the same thing. Family to love. Success in life. We are not so different from each other. And my territory is being enlarged.
I want to adopt them and make them a part of my family. We spend time together and trust is building.
This is beginning to sound a lot like church. My prayer is to be the church, not just go to church. My prayer is not be a better me, but to be more like Jesus. As long as, I am working with God to build His kingdom I will never be without family. Now my loss has been turned to the most amazing gain.
I have prayed the prayer of Jabez for eight days now. I am constantly looking for God’s hand in the world. If you haven’t experienced life with a radical God, I challenge you to start praying 1 Chronicles 4:10 and watch God move in your life. Leave a comment below.
